KeyStep is a tertiary training service provided by Manukau Institute of Technology. Our goal is to help young people discover their strengths, and work with them to achieve their own vision for their future.
We offer FREE practical courses in a positive, stimulating environment, to inspire people and build their skills and confidence.
Programmes are open now, with places available throughout the year.
* Free to New Zealand citizens and permanent residents. Entry criteria apply.
Our students complete a National Certificate in Employment Skills (Level 1), with core subjects such as communication and problem-solving, technology and career skills.
Small class sizes ensure that students get the one-on-one attention and skills they need to get ahead.
With great links to workplaces, KeyStep will strive to get you onto that first step to achieve your brighter future.
Young people aged 16-24 who are not in employment, education or training (sometimes referred to as NEETs) are not covered by the traditional unemployment figures.
These young people are at a pivotal moment in their life, where building confidence and discovering their natural talents can make a big difference to their future.
If you’re in this situation, or you know someone who is, KeyStep is for you. Our programmes are especially designed to build both employment and general life skills, and offer a road into working or higher education.
